(v2.0 – 5th December 2025)
1. Promoter
The promoter is NextGen Music (“NextGen Music”).
Contact: office@nextgenmusic.org
2. Eligibility & Entry Structure
2.1 Eligible Schools
Open to state primary schools, secondary schools, academies and colleges within regions selected for each campaign.
2.2 Official School Entry
Only authorised school staff (e.g., Headteacher, Head of Music, SLT lead) may submit an Official Entry.
The Official Entry must include agreement to:
host the free workshop; and
permit NextGen Music to deliver weekly peripatetic DJ lessons on-site, with all lesson bookings and payments made directly by parents/carers to NextGen Music.
2.3 Parent/Student/Individual Nominations (“Advocacy”)
Nominations from students, parents or guardians (“Expressions of Interest”) are welcomed.
A nomination:
does not constitute an Official Entry;
does not commit the school to participate;
does not guarantee eligibility for equipment;
functions solely as a referral.
Once a school submits an Official Entry, all nominations linked to that school become Eligible Nominations for the parent prize draw.
2.4 Multiple Nominations
Schools may receive multiple nominations.
This does not affect the school equipment giveaway but does affect the number of entries into the parent prize draw (Section 6).
3. How to Enter (Schools)
3.1 Entry Requirements
Schools must submit the Official Entry form confirming their agreement to:
book in a free in-school DJ workshop; and
allow NextGen Music to deliver weekly peripatetic DJ lessons on-site. The school is not required to book or manage lessons; parent/carer bookings are handled directly with NextGen Music.
3.2 Acceptance of Participation
Participation will be confirmed by NextGen Music subject to tutor availability.
3.3 School Communication Requirement
The school must send out:
the workshop sign-up email; and
the weekly lesson sign-up email.
NextGen Music manages all parent communications, sign-ups, payments and administration.
4. DJ Equipment Giveaway (Schools)
4.1 Equipment Provided
1× Pioneer DDJ-FLX2 DJ Controller
1× pair Presonus Eris 3.5 Powered Monitors
1x pair of Numark HF125 Headphones
4.2 Placement of Equipment
To support delivery, the Equipment may be placed in the school once the weekly lessons have been booked, even before ownership is transferred.
4.3 Ownership Transfer (Gifting Condition)
Ownership transfers once all the following conditions are met:
Four (4) consecutive teaching weeks of DJ lessons have taken place (excluding scheduled school holidays or unavoidable closures);
The school has a minimum of 2.5 hours / 150 minutes of timetabled DJ lessons per week during the qualifying period;
Parent invoices for those lessons are paid.
4.4 Responsibility & Care
The Equipment remains the property of NextGen Music until ownership transfer.
The school agrees to take reasonable care of the Equipment while it is on site and is liable for reasonable loss or damage caused by negligence, improper use, or failure to provide reasonable security.
Normal wear and tear is excluded.
4.5 Early Cancellation or Failure to Meet Conditions
NextGen Music may withhold or reclaim the Equipment if:
the school cancels workshops or lessons before the qualifying period is completed;
the minimum teaching allocation is not met;
required parent communications are not sent;
safeguarding or operational concerns arise;
participation is deemed to be in bad faith.
In such cases, NextGen Music will notify the school in writing and arrange collection within 14 days.
5. Workshops
Each workshop runs for 30 minutes.
Up to 10 students per group.
NextGen Music will run as many groups as needed based on sign-ups.
All equipment, setup and delivery are provided by NextGen Music.
6. Parent Prize Draw – One Month of Free Lessons
6.1 Eligibility Requirements
A parent/guardian becomes a Valid Entrant if they:
submit a nomination form; and
contact their school to encourage participation.
NextGen Music will confirm Valid Entrants once the school submits its Official Entry.
If a school does not submit an Official Entry, nominations linked to that school do not enter the draw.
6.2 Prize
One parent will win one (1) month of free DJ lessons for their child.
The number of lessons depends on the school timetable.
No cash alternative; non-transferable.
6.3 Draw Mechanism
Each Valid Entrant = one entry
Winner selected at random
Winner notified by email or phone
6.4 Boundaries
Parents do not receive equipment
Prize applies only to lessons delivered by NextGen Music
Lessons must be taken within the period specified by NextGen Music
7. Parent Payment Requirement
To qualify for equipment transfer, parent/carer payments for the first four weeks of lessons must be up to date.
This requirement applies to parents/carers only; the school is not responsible for collecting or managing payments.
Where payments are not received within 7 days of the due date, NextGen Music may pause lessons and withhold or reclaim the Equipment.
This condition does not create any financial responsibility or liability for the school.
8. Data Protection
NextGen Music processes personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Details are available in NextGen Music’s Privacy Policy at www.nextgenmusic.org/privacy.
Nominations generate leads but do not create any obligation for the school.
9. Marketing Consent
By participating, schools consent to NextGen Music referencing their name and using non-identifiable images from workshops or lessons for promotional purposes.
Schools may opt out in writing at any time.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NextGen Music is not liable for:
cancellations or timetable changes by the school;
equipment issues after ownership transfers;
indirect, incidental or consequential losses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
NextGen Music’s total liability is capped at the value of the Equipment or prize.
11. Amendments
NextGen Music may revise these Terms at any time.
Material changes will be communicated to participating schools.
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
