Inspiring a New Generation of Music Students through DJ’ing

Why Host a Free DJ Workshop?

At NextGen Music, we understand the pressures and goals of running a vibrant music department. Our FREE DJ workshops are designed to engage students, promote music as a dynamic GCSE option, and provide a hands-on experience that leaves them inspired.

Here are five great reasons to bring our DJ workshop to your school:

Promote Music as a GCSE Choice

With DJ controllers now part of the GCSE music syllabus, DJing provides an engaging path for students to consider music studies. This workshop opens up an alternative route that inspires students who may not connect with traditional instruments.

Provide a Fully Managed Workshop

We take care of all the equipment, setup, and administration, including parent communications, making the process seamless and hassle-free for your school.

Offer a No-Obligation Experience

This workshop is entirely free and without pressure to continue. It’s an opportunity to explore something new and inspire your students with no commitments.

Engage All Students, Instantly

DJing is accessible, interactive, and exciting. It reaches students across musical backgrounds, offering a fresh approach that appeals to a diverse group of learners.

Deliver a Professional, Accredited Curriculum

Our workshop introduces students to a structured and accredited DJing curriculum, supporting their music education with a high-quality, foundational experience.

It has been wonderful to have NextGen teaching DJing at Bishop Luffa. They’ve inspired many of our students and they all really enjoy the lessons. We have 2 students taking GCSE Music and are offering DJing as their Performing Component. This has enabled us to offer GCSE Music to a wider audience. Many thanks NextGen!

NextGen are extremely professional in their delivery of DJ lessons at The Petersfield School. They have built up their lessons through delivering engaging weekly workshops and established positive relationships with our students who are all keen to learn with them. Through their professionalism and expertise students are learning new skills and are enthusiastic about engaging with music, production and mixing.

Our DJ workshop is an immersive experience, designed to engage students and offer a new perspective on music. Here’s What Happens:

Live DJ Demonstration

We start with an exciting DJ performance, captivating students with a showcase of skills, creativity, and the energy of DJing.

Interactive DJing Activities

Under guided supervision, students have the chance to try DJing themselves, using professional-grade equipment. They’ll learn techniques like beat-matching and blending tracks in a fun, supportive environment.

Curriculum Alignment

Our workshop highlights how DJing fits into the GCSE curriculum and promotes skills like creativity, self-confidence, and focus—all while supporting students’ broader development in music.

Flexible Scheduling

We’re happy to work with your school’s timetable to find a time that suits your department, whether within school hours or after.

What’s the Catch?

There isn’t one but here’s why we offer this workshop for FREE. At NextGen Music, we believe that every student should have access to music education that resonates with their interests, and for many, DJing is an exciting, modern alternative. Our workshop not only introduces students to DJing, but also opens up the option of reasonably priced peripatetic DJ lessons that can be taken individually or in pairs, making it more affordable for families.

While some students thrive with traditional instruments like piano or violin, DJing offers a fresh avenue for those who may not feel as connected to classical choices. If your students enjoy the workshop, some may choose to continue DJing lessons with us, but that decision is entirely up to you and the families involved. Our hope is simply to inspire a deeper love for music in all its forms.

Hi, I’m Deen, the founder of NextGen Music. With over a decade of DJing experience across stages and studios, I started NextGen Music to share the art of DJing directly with schools. Rated five stars by students and parents alike, our workshops have helped hundreds of young people discover a new way to love music through a fun, accessible curriculum.

Our approach goes beyond teaching the technical skills of DJing where we aim to inspire confidence, creativity, and a lasting appreciation for music. Our curriculum has been designed to meet the AQA, OCR and Eduqas GCSE Music examination criteria and to ensure that each student leaves with valuable skills and a sense of accomplishment. I look forward to bringing this unique experience to your school and opening up new musical possibilities for your students.
